Our Certified Lawyer Therapist ™ designation is a specialized professional credential designed for psychotherapists and psychologists committed to treating attorneys. This certification recognizes specialized, in-depth training, clinical expertise, and cultural competence specific to the unique psychological needs and experiences of practicing attorneys.
No prior experience treating attorneys is required. This certification is designed to provide comprehensive training and professional support, ensuring you develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to effectively serve this unique client population.
All training modules were developed and are taught by Mike Lubofsky, JD, MA, LMFT—a licensed psychotherapist and attorney who has extensive professional experience in both psychotherapy and legal practice. His unique background provides invaluable insight into attorney culture and mental health challenges.
Most therapists will complete the certification requirements—including the 8 modules, exam, and case study presentations—within 6–12 months. Certification must be renewed annually by participating in ongoing professional consultation and case study presentations.
